ACT:  Visit the site and gain access to practice questions as well as tips and hints to help prepare for the ACT standardized test

 

Buying a calculator: Click here to find advice on what calculator will work for your current math class. 

 

GEOGEBRA Click here to gain access to free software that will allow you to dynamically manipulate geometric shapes and figures.

 

Shodor:  This is a site full of activities and games that are meant to help students improve their mathematical abilities. 

 

Google Sketchup: The link will take you to a page that allows you to download free software. The Sketchup program enables users to create and manipulate three dimensional figures and gives users the ability to design many other types of drawings or buildings.

 

SOS Mathematics: Use this site to obtain explanations that supplement and review classroom discussions. Also visit this site to receive assistance from online tutors that are associated with the site.

 

ISU Math Circle: Take part in a group lead by an ISU professor that helps students explore the fascinating world of mathematics.

Engineering and Beyond: Juniors check out the workshop to determine if you might possess an interest in a future involving engineering.

Golden Circle Math Competition: This is a mathematics competition held in early March that is strictly for Freshmen participation only. Gilbert has taken teams down for the past 4 years and the students always enjoy the night. More information to follow.

Taking the Road Less Traveled: This is a Career Conference for Girls sponsored by Iowa State University's Program for Women in Science and Engineering. The conferences aim to expose girls, sixth through twelfth grades, to career paths within science, technology, engineering and math. More than 2,500 individuals participate in the program each year
